Funeral arrangements announced for man killed in Moody rollover crash

Family of the man killed when a dump truck carrying manure rolled over on Box Ranch Road in Moody back in November has identified him and announced funeral arrangements.

The previously unidentified man was Isiah M. Watkins, Sr., according to his daughter.

Mr. Watkins was born in Bosqueville in March 1940. He married his wife Alfar Armon in Waco on Halloween of 1964. They were married more than 50 years and had two children.

Mr. Watkins attended McLennan Community College and served four years in the Navy, along with an additional two years in the Navy reserve. He worked 33 years at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Waco. He and his wife co-owned Watkins Sand, Gravel & Compost.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church located at 2001 Dallas St. in Waco. He will be buried at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
