Channel 6 and H-E-B have teamed up again this year to collect toys for military children as part of our Camo Santa Toy Drive.
Anyone is welcome to drop off new, unwrapped toys, books, games or G-rated DVDs for kids 6 months to 12 years old at any Central Texas H-E-B store between now and Dec. 11, 2017.
On Dec. 19, Channel 6 News and H-E-B will deliver the toys to Fort Hood Santa's Workshop -- a nonprofit organization that provides games and toys to less fortunate military families during the holidays. As we do each year, Channel 6 will also donate $5,000 to the charity on that date.
If you cannot donate toys but would like to make a financial contribution, click here. Monetary donations can also be made in-person at the Channel 6 News Studio, which is located at 215 N. 3rd St. in Temple.
While toy donations can be made at any Central Texas H-E-B store, our news team will also be making appearances to encourage more donations at several locations during Texas Today (5 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday-Friday) and our weekday 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts. For a list of locations where you can meet our team Monday-Friday, scroll down. (Also, special shout-out to the H-E-B at 1314 W Adams Ave, where you'll see many of us shopping near the station. It's also a drop off location, too!)
