TEMPLE - The Hawn hotel has been closed since 1979 but now one Temple native is working to bring it back.
Bryan Smith with Criterion Management wants to revitalize the building and turn it into a downtown living option. The new development will have retail on the first floor with the other eight floors divided into 24 residences. One, two, and three bedroom options are available.
Smith said that Criterion Management will need to sell at least half of the units by the first of the year to move the project forward and their will finalize the prices for the units in the coming weeks. He said people have already made verbal commitments for six of those units.
