House fire displaces two in Temple

In Temple two people have been displaced after fire broke out at a home late last night.

TEMPLE - Two people are displaced after a house fire Saturday night in Temple.

Officials said they were dispatched at 9:43 p.m. about a detached garage fire in the 1000 block of South 45th Street. A total of nine units and 21 personnel responded to the scene.


When first responders arrived to the scene, they found a detached garage with heavy fire showing and spreading quickly to the rear of a wood frame house. The garage, a portable storage building in the back yard along with its contents were destroyed. The rear of the house and attic also received fire damage, officials said.

The home next to the residence also received heat damage. The fire was under control at 10:09 p.m. and the scene was cleared at 1:25 a.m. Sunday.

The displaced are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

A dollar loss to the property has not been determined.

No injuries were reported and fire investigators are working to find the cause of the fire.
