I-35 Delays, Closures and Accidents

Storm and flooding

CENTRAL TEXAS - UPDATE: 2:43 P.M.  Debris and mud left by the floodwater have been cleared and  the northbound mainlanes are now open. Traffic should begin moving faster through the north part of the area fairly quickly, but the current stackup is down almost Midway Drive and it will probably take some time for the south end of it to see the improvement, according to TxDOT.

Severe weather has taken hold of I-35 in both directions through Central Texas.

Due to heavy rain, water is covering the main lanes northbound at FM 1237/Pendleton Rd. All traffic is being diverted to  the access road through Troy and then back on. The estimated back-up is two to four miles.

There is also a vehicle collision at MM 336, causing a back-up of one to two miles. The traffic is northbound of  the Brazos River. The cause of the crash is unknown. Another developing situation is causing traffic southbound from N Loop 343 to FM 1237/Pendleton Rd.

The most developed crash involved a single vehicle that hydroplaned and crashed near Nugent Road southbound Tuesday morning. The crash has since been cleared, but traffic was still slow-moving for much of the morning.

Alternate routes are highly suggested. Delays range. Check back for more updates.
