KILLEEN - The Killeen City Council voted to remove Ann Farris from interim city manager and transition her back to her old role of assistant city manager Tuesday night.
Council member Dick Young said he was the one to first suggest discussion over moving Farris be added to Tuesday night's meeting agenda.
Young said Farris wasn't the right person to tackle the cities budget crisis and that he hoped to find someone with more experience in that field to better handle the task next year.
"I had some issues about the process it was a little disjointed, it wasn't her area of expertise. It's not so much reflective to her ability but a reflection of the process. We felt like we need to start on next years budget immediately and handle it differently this time" said Young.
Farris will officially return to her role of assistant city manager on October 10th.
The city will search for a new interim city manager within the city.
However, the city is still searching for a permanent city manager. City council members received an update on that search in an hour long closed session meeting last night.
