Local businesses reporting passing of counterfeit money

Local businesses in Cameron said counterfeit money is being circulated in the area.

CAMERON - Local businesses in Cameron have alerted police to counterfeit dollar bills being circulated in the area.

Officials said over the last 24 hours, the Cameron Police Department received numerous reports of counterfeit money being passed at businesses.

Five dollar and $100 bills have been passed so far.

Cameron police are advising local business owners, as well as citizens, to check currency being passed and to alert them if they see anything suspicious.

The incidents are currently under investigation.
