Manhunt underway for Temple credit union robbery suspect

Temple police are looking for a man who robbed a bank with an AK-47 style weapon.

TEMPLE - Temple police are searching for a suspect involved in the robbery of the Temple Santa Fe Credit Union Wednesday morning in the 1700 block of West Ave A.

Officials said at about 9:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the credit union for a reported Bank Robbery.

Officers were told a white man wearing a mask, dark clothing and carrying what appeared to be an AK-47 style weapon entered the credit union. Multiple rounds were fired from the rifle into the ceiling and he demanded money.

The suspect fled from the scene with an unknown amount of money in a silver or gray Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, Quad Cab, 1998 to early 2000 model in an unknown direction.


Temple police is investigating the robbery along with the FBI.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the robbery or identity of the suspect is asked to call the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.
