Chipotle raises money to support Fort Hood soldiers and families

Fort Hood's Chipotle supports soldiers and their families through more than just food.

The restaurant inside the Exchange recently raised more than $1,600 for a Family Readiness Group (FRG) with the 1st Battalion 62nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment.

The unit presented a plaque to General Manager Carrie Penick Tuesday in recognition of her efforts at Chipotle.

The FRG uses money raised to throw pizza parties, ice cream socials, bowling events and monthly meetings to bring unit families closer.

"I like being involved in FRG to meet other family members, getting connected," said FRG Leader with the 69th ADA Brigade Tasha Nunes, who is also a mother of three. "We can stay supported and support each other through deployments while the soldiers are gone."
