Nearly 3,000 Oncor customers lose power in Belton

UPDATE: Power has been restored. 

Oncor was responding to a power outage in the western part of Belton Friday afternoon.

According to the publicly-available online outage map, nearly 3,000 customers were affected. The power company said it expected to restore power to those customers by 4 p.m.

Oncor Area Manager Casey Simpson said he had a crew dispatched, but the company had not yet determined what caused the outage. Channel 6 also contacted a City of Belton spokesperson and was waiting to hear back, as of 3 p.m.
