Police ID Beverly Hills standoff suspect

Update on weekend standoff in McLennan County.

BEVERLY HILLS - Beverly Hills police have identified the male suspect involved in a standoff Sunday afternoon at the 3200 block of Acree and Bradford Street. 

Jordan Gilbert, 19, of Waco was charged with Burglary of a habitation, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, deadly conduct, and theft of a firearm. 

Officials said they received a call around 2:00 p.m. of a disturbance and later learned a the suspect kicked down his girlfriends door. 

When officers arrived to the scene, the suspect, with a gun ran off through some backyards.

At one point, an officer reported a shot was fired, but no one was hit. The suspect eventually barricaded himself in the backyard and pointed his gun at his own head, according to police.

Police negotiated with the man for nearly two hours. 

The suspect surrendered to police around 4:15 p.m.

Gilbert is currently being held at the McLennan County Jail.
