Missing boys in Groesbeck found safe

Police had been searching for the third grade boys since they walked away from Enge Washington Intermediate School.

Around 11:50 a.m., the Groesbeck Police Department received a call from the school stating the boys left the campus.

They were last seen entering a partially-wooded pasture to the west of school property.

School Staff immediately began a search for the students and notified the police department.

Several agencies including Groesbeck ISD, the Limestone County Sheriff's Office, the Texas DPS, and the McLennan County Sheriff's Office Air Unit assisted the staff in the search. Citizens, Atmos Engery and members of the Groesbeck Volunteer Fire Department also assisted in the search.

They were found hiding in a ditch around 1:44 p.m.

According to the Groesbeck Police Department Facebook page the boys were returned unharmed to their parents.
