Rogers ISD cancels school during power outage, sends kids back home

BELL COUNTY - Rogers ISD canceled school just before 10 a.m. Tuesday because of a power outage.

Angie Gloria, the administrative assistant to the superintendent, said some students were already at school prior to the electrical outage. Those students were being put back on buses and sent home, as of 10 a.m.

The district had originally delayed school by two hours, and classes were supposed to start at 10 a.m. But, the decision was later made to cancel school completely for the safety of students and staff.

There was not immediate word on when power could return.

The district's phone number is 254-642-3802, and you can monitor online Rogers ISD posts here.
