Scene of semi fire cleared, all I-35 lanes are open

The tractor leaked fueled and was engulfed in flames, also setting both side of the highway on fire.

BRUCVILLE-EDDY - UPDATE: All Bruceville-Eddy Fire personnel are clear from the accident as of 9:30 a.m. As of 10:47 a.m., all I-35 lanes are open.

Original story

At around 2:30 a.m. Brucville-Eddy Fire Department responded to an 18-wheeler on fire along I-35 northbound near MM 317. The tractor's fuel leaked across the highway and spread flames both northbound and southbound.

Waco fire hazmat control also responded to the incident.

Initially I-35 was closed in both ways. The northbound lanes have since been opened up to one lane, while southbound remains closed and traffic has been diverted to the access road. All major traffic has piled up between MM 308 and MM 319. Heavy delays are expected.

More information on the incident and the driver's condition is still being investigated as both McLennan County fire and police departments remain on scene.
