The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a * Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Central Johnson County in north central Texas... Northeastern Bosque County in central Texas... Hill County in central Texas... * Until 1130 AM CDT. * At 826 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms that were producing heavy rainfall across parts of northern Hill, northeastern Bosque and southern Johnson counties. Excessive runoff from these thunderstorms will cause small stream flooding. This means some low water crossings in the region may become impassable. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen over the past several hours and additional heavy rain will be possible as showers and thunderstorms move in from the south. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cleburne, Hillsboro, Keene, Alvarado, Venus, Whitney, Itasca, Grandview, Blum, Covington, Bynum, Carl's Corner, Cleburne State Park, Lake Whitney State Park, Rio Vista and Morgan. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
