Suspect wanted for murder in U.S. Virgin Islands arrested in Killeen

A murder suspect from the U.S. Virgin Islands was arrested by Killeen police.

KILLEEN - A man wanted for murder in the U.S. Virgin Islands was arrested in the downtown area of Killeen Wednesday by police.

Officials said on Tuesday, Killeen policed detectives received information from authorities in St. Thomas that a suspect wanted there for several crimes, including first degree murder could be in Killeen.

Around 10:18 a.m. Wednesday morning, detectives found the suspect, 43-year-old Currup Williams.

Williams was riding in a van and was seen traveling between locations in the downtown Killeen area.

Officers stopped the van and arrested Williams without incident and the van driver was arrested for an unrelated misdemeanor charge.

In addition to First Degree Murder, Williams was also wanted for First Degree Assault, Third Degree Assault, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Crime of Violence and Reckless Endangerment.
