TRAFFIC UPDATE: Crash on US 190 causes vehicle to catch fire

TEMPLE, TEXAS - A one vehicle crash happened today shortly before 5 p.m. on US 190 between Heidenheimer and Rogers, Texas.

A Ford pickup truck traveling eastbound lost control in the rain and crashed into a concrete retainer wall before coming to rest on the north side of the roadway. The vehicle then caught fire.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety two occupants were in the vehicle. Frank David, 74, of Rockdale was driving with passenger Patricia David, 71, also of Rockdale.

Both were able to exit before the fire engulfed the pickup truck.

The Davids were then transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. They were treated for minor injuries.

It is unknown at this time if charges will be filed.
