Truck driver identified in fiery I-35 crash in Waco, GoFundMe set up

The identity of the semi-driver has been identified.

Waco Police identified the deceased truck driver in Wednesday's triple-fatal crash on I-35 near S. Valley Mills Drive.

The truck driver was Eugene Watts III, 31, of Arlington, according to Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton.

Swanton said officers made preliminary identifications on the other two victims: a female driver and a "child or pre-teen," but their names were withheld Thursday afternoon, pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner's office.

The fiery crash involved four 18-wheelers with trailers and two passenger vehicles.

Waco Police are still investigating the crash. Read more here.

Watt's family set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses. You can donate to the page here.

According to the GoFundMe page, Watts -- who went by Gene -- leaves behind an 8-year-old son Tyson and 6-month-old daughter Sariah.

In posts on social media, the family warned other phony GoFundMe pages were circulating. This is the correct one.
