Two men try and fail to steal money from Killeen restaurant

KILLEEN - Police were searching Tuesday for two armed men who attempted to steal from the Oriental Cafe on Greenlee Drive in Killeen around 9 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said the men pulled a gun and demanded money from the restaurant employees. But, the employees didn't budge and got into an argument with the potential thieves, who got nervous and ran away, a Killeen Police official explained.

Officers arrived quickly, but the two suspects had already vanished in an unknown direction.

Both suspects were described as black men, each roughly 5-foot-7. One wore a knit hat, black long sleeve shirt, gray pants and white shoes. He was also carrying a backpack. The second man had a bushy haircut and facial hair. He wore a black hooded shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Detectives with the KPD Criminal investigation Division's Violent Crimes Unit were assigned to the case.
