Voluntary water conservation requested for China Spring

Waco, Texas (September 21, 2016) – Effective immediately, the City of Waco is making an emergency request for water conservation and elimination of all irrigation in the China Spring area. (See attached map)

Conserving now will help to avoid potential mandatory water restrictions. This is only a request for conserving water and in no way is the quality of the water in question.  This is NOT a boil water notice.

Mechanical failure of one pump, at the ground storage facility located near the Waco Regional Airport, has reduced the amount of water that can be transmitted to the China Spring area, along China Spring Rd. and North River Crossing / FM 185.

The city anticipates repairing the pump and returning the area to full operational capacity within 24 hours.

Until the repair is complete, conservation is imperative and will help meet water demand and avoid enacting mandatory water restrictions in the area. For more information, visit www.wacowater.com or call 299-CITY (2489).
