WEST - Nearly three years ago, the West Fertilizer Plant explosion killed 15 people and injured more than 100.
But now, West Middle School and High School are back open and housed together in a new facility. Though students have been in class for weeks now, a formal dedication ceremony was held Saturday night. It included musical, food and dance.
The new state of the art facility will serve more than 600 students in grades 6-12. In recent years, classes have been held in temporary, portable classrooms.
