Woodway police said this is a growing problem in the area.

Officers said they tried to arrest 27-year-old Bill Linkous for meeting up with a prostitute he got in his car and drove off leading officers on a chase.

Linkous crashed his car into a parked car in the 100 block of Taos Drive. He grabbed a shield and a samurai sword from his car and tried to fight off officers.

One officer was injured from the sword. He was treated at a local hospital and later released. He is expected to return by the end of the week.

Woodway police said it was a dangerous situation but they're glad one more criminal is off the street.

"This guy, one they prey on women, two there's a lot of trafficking that's going on and we try to do everything that we can to capture as many as we can," Chief Yost Sakhary said. "And this was a short operation this was our second and both were successful."
