(KCEN) --- Michael Jackson's former doctor, who just got out of jail this week, is now suing to get his medical license back.
Dr. Conrad Murray has filed suit against the Texas Medical Board claiming it prematurely revoked his license.
In court papers filed in Texas, Murray expresses concern that the revocation of his Texas license could give California reason to take the same action.
Murray says his conviction in California is not final until his appeals are exhausted.
His medical license is currently suspended in California.
The former Houston cardiologist was convicted in 2011 of giving Jackson a lethal overdose of a powerful anesthetic.
According to the lawsuit, Murray says he's more than 400-thousand dollars in debt and can't afford to pay court costs.
