(KCEN) -- After almost three months in the hospital, Nelson Mandela is back at home in South Africa.
The leader of the Anit-Apartheid Movement was taken home by a private ambulance last night.
Even at home, 95-year-old Mandela remains critically ill, but stable.
Family members say he was only allowed to be released from the hospital because his room has been turned into a "mini-hospital ward," and he will continue to get the same medical treatment at home.
With his return - family and many South Africans are optimistic about his condition and his improvement.
