Oldest vet, Austinite Richard Overton expected to be released from hospital

AUSTIN - After being hospitalized due to a fever, the oldest living veteran and Austinite is expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday, according to KVUE's news partners at the Austin American-Statesman.

Richard Overton, who recently celebrated his 111th birthday, was sent to St. David's Medical Center with a fever of 102 degrees Friday. Overton's family confirmed to the Austin American-Statesman Friday evening that he was diagnosed with pneumonia in his right lung. 

Overton celebrated his 111th birthday on May 11.
