Tiffany Pelt - Reporter

After nearly four years in Lubbock at KCBD, Tiffany joined the KCEN news team in July of 2013 and could not be happier to be back in Central Texas.

Tiffany grew up in a small town called Lexington, Texas located about an hour south east of Temple.  In addition to getting to see her family and close friends at anytime, her parents are also able to watch her on the news which she absolutely loves!

She attended the beautiful Texas State University (EAT ‘EM UP CATS!), where she has degrees in Electronic Media and History. While there she explored several areas of news and held positions including news director for the university's radio station, print writer for the Community Relations Department, and news interns for KXAN in Austin and WOAI in San Antonio.

Leaving behind the hill country, Tiffany landed her first reporting job at KCBD News Channel 11 in Lubbock. She had the opportunity to learn from some of the best, meet some incredible people, and tell stories that have impacted her life. From snow and extreme drought to insane dust storms and flooding, Tiffany has covered the unpredictable and crazy weather in Lubbock. She's also covered major events including the arrest of suspected terrorist Khalid Aldawsari, the West fertilizer plant explosion, and Midland's fatal Veterans Day parade train crash.

For Tiffany this isn't a job, it's a passion. As a one-man-band she shoots her own video, writes, edits and goes live for her stories. She takes pride in being able to visually tell a person's story, and finds it rewarding when her stories have the power to impact others in the community. She recently won a Lone Star Emma for a story about local farmers gathering to finish the cotton crop of a new widow. Those are the stories that she loves the most – the stories that can take a tragedy and transform it into an uplifting and powerful story of a community coming together.
