    EUGENE, Ore. – To open his run at the IAAF World Junior Championships, Baylor track and field sprinter Trayvon Bromell turned in the fastest 100-meter qualifying time of 10.13 on Tuesday at Hayward Field. Bromell ran out of lane three in the sixth of seven heats. He had the top reaction time on the day (0.115) and then cruised to the win in his heat to earn a spot in Wednesday’s semifinals.     London (CNN) -- Peaches Geldof, the daughter of musician Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, died of a heroin overdose after relapsing into use of the illegal drug following attempts to give it up, an inquest heard Wednesday. Nine current or former sheriff’s deputies alleging they were fired or demoted because they did not support McNamara in his 2012 primary. Now that trial is not happening. Instead, the nine plaintiffs will be receiving a $2 million dollars settlement, $575,000 coming from McLennan County reserves.
