KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fifth-seeded Baylor
soccer is ready to begin competition at the Big 12 Championship in
Kansas City, Mo., at Swope Soccer Village. The Bears (10-5-3, 3-4-1)
face No. 4 Iowa State (8-8-2, 2-4-1) on Wednesday at
11:30 a.m. CT in the quarterfinals.
Iowa State took the regular season meeting 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 18 in Ames, Iowa, over the Bears, but Baylor won the only meeting the teams have had in the Big 12 Championship with a 4-2 win in 1997 in San Antonio. The winner of Wednesday's match will go on to face the winner of No. 1 West Virginia vs. No. 8 Kansas on Friday at 5:30 p.m. to decide who plays in Sunday's title match at 3:30 p.m.
