Belton, Texas— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball team placed three players on the American Southwest Conference All-Conference Teams released today. The Cru had one First Team selection and a pair of honorable mention picks.
James Allen was voted to the ASC All-Conference First Team. Allen, a senior guard from College Park High School in The Woodlands, led the Cru in scoring at 18.5 points per game this season. He also averaged 4.4 rebounds per game, led UMHB with 51 steals and added 73 assists this season. Allen also became UMHB's NCAA Division III era career leader in games played, scoring and steals this season
Kitrick Bell and Jerard Graham were both voted Honorable Mention All-Conference. Bell, a senior forward from Fort Bend Marshall High School, averaged 12.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season. Bell shot 57 percent from the field and added 21 steals, 19 assists and seven blocked shots this year. Graham, a junior wing from Burkburnett High School, finished second on the Cru with 15.6 points per game and he led the team in rebounding at 9.0 boards per game. Graham added 52 assists, 40 steals and nine blocked shots on the season.
Bell is making his fourth appearance on the ASC All-Conference Teams. Allen is a three-time selection and this is the first All-ASC honor for Graham.
The Cru finished 17-9 overall this season and went 15-7 in ASC play. The UMHB men advanced to the ASC Championship Tournament before falling to Louisiana College 81-71 in a Quarterfinal Game.
