I was born and raised in Texas and love the Lone Star State... from the colorful landscape to the diverse people who call this state home. I spent my college years at Texas A&M University, so I really enjoy attending Aggie football and basketball games. And because I live in Waco, I like to go to Baylor sporting events and root for the Bears, when they aren't playing A&M.

I've spent 26 years reporting and anchoring television news, including anchor stints in Las Vegas, Nevada and Knoxville, Tennessee. I was also a reporter for Dallas station KDFW-TV in the Capital Bureau covering then Governor George W. Bush. I've also worked at stations in Tyler, Texas, West Palm Beach, Florida, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Lake Charles, Louisiana.

There are few dull moments in the news business. I've reported from the national political conventions... stayed on location for live reports through the night as Hurricane Andrew swept across Florida...and zoomed near the sound barrier over Death Valley, California in an F-16 fighter jet with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. I've also enjoyed covering "live fire" exercises at Fort Hood. I've been honored for my work by the Associated Press in Texas and Florida, by the Dallas Press Club, and was part of the team that won a Lone Star Emmy for NBC 6 News at 6.

Outside of work I'm proud to be a co-host of the Children's Miracle Network Celebration at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, and an annual participant in the Komen Race for the Cure in Central Texas.

My wife, Laura and I have been married for 26 years. Our children are Emily and Travis. Some fun things I enjoy outside of work include fishing, kayaking, swimming, tennis, and working on the yard.
