Thanks for visiting our website, and a special thanks for making NBC 6 the Most Watched Television Station in Central Texas! I anchor NBC 6 News at 5, 6 & 10 p.m. with John Gilbert weeknights.

11 short years ago I moved to Waco from Huntsville after graduating from college, and began my career running a teleprompter for another TV station. Since joining NBC 6 News in 1999 as the weekend anchor, I've held just about every news position available, working my way up to anchoring weeknights in 2005.

I absolutely love meeting people, whether it’s in the grocery store, in the neighborhood, or out in the community professionally. It’s an honor to have a job like mine. Because you let me into your living rooms every night, I feel like I have so many friends when you come up to say hello!

I love reporting the big criminal cases, from the scene of the crime to the courtroom. Perhaps one of the best known cases world-wide that I reported on was that of the 2003 murder of Baylor University basketball player Patrick Dennehy and the arrest of his former teammate Carlton Dotson.

The information and stories I dug up led to live reports for MSNBC, Court TV, KXAS-TV in Dallas, and ESPN Radio. I've also covered the Western District of Texas' first federal death penalty case in 1999, which involved two teenagers from a Killeen gang, and the Branch Davidians' unsuccessful wrongful death lawsuit against the government.

Journalism awards include an Emmy for being co-anchor in a news team that won for Outstanding Newscast in 2005 and recognition by the Texas Medical Association in 2007 for my medical reporting.

I grew up in the south Texas town of Port Lavaca and graduated with honors from Calhoun High School. Go Sandcrabs! My parents still teach there. It’s also still an honor to have been crowned Miss Calhoun County Fair Queen in 1991.

I am a 1996 cum laude graduate of Sam Houston State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Radio/Television/Film and was awarded the Frank Morris/Dan Rather Excellence in Broadcast Journalism Scholarship.

I married a Valley Mills native in 2004. Scott and I enjoy attending sporting events and camping. I also love to garden, swim, walk, hike, shop and do home improvement projects.
