A bill requiring college students to get a meningitis vaccine is closer to becoming a reality.
All students living on campus are currently required to be vaccinated. The Texas Senate approved a bill to expand the requirement to all college students. Students would be required to get a physician-signed certificate that proves they have been vaccinated.
The proposed law would bear the name of Texas A&M student Nicolis Williams, who died of the disease.
The bill now goes to the House of Representatives.
