Operations at the Total Port Arthur Refinery have returned to normal after the company says there was an "operations upset" in its sulfur recovery unit early this morning.
A Total spokesperson say the company monitored the surrounding areas downwind of the refinery and did not detect offsite impact, as well as notifying all appropriate public agencies.
Workers were evacuated from the refinery around 7:00 morning, while others reporting to work were not allowed in as they arrived.
