TEMPLE (KCEN)- Two people have been arrested in relation to a fiery crash that killed a 6-month-old baby and injured four others on Old Highway 95.

Erik Mungia-Trejo, 19, of Temple and Kevin Michael Rogers, 17, of Bell County were arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of the second degree felony offense of racing causing serious bodily injury.

Police say Mungia-Trejo was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix and was racing Rogers at the time of the crash.

Rogers momentarily stopped at the scene of the crash and investigators later determined he and Mungia-Trejo were racing each other northbound on Old Highway 95 when the crash occurred.

Mungia-Trejo remains in Scott and White Hospital, now under police custody. He will be taken to Bell County Jail upon his release.

Rogers is in the Bell County Jail.
