FORT HOOD (KCEN)-Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died Dec. 29 in Temple from injuries suffered from a gunshot wound Dec. 23 in Killeen.
Spc. Michael Henry Bailey II, 26, of Flint, Mich., joined the military in August 2008 as an air traffic control equipment repairer. He was assigned to 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood since June 2010.
Bailey deployed to Iraq from May 2011 to November 2011.
Bailey's awards and decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star and Army Service Ribbon.
Circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation.
