Update: The body of a man found in a vacant home Jan. 18 after a house fire has been identified through dental records.
49-year-old John Jeffrey Oliver has been identified as the man found in that home.
Police say Oliver was believed to have stayed in and around the Waco area and may have been in a transient type of situation, staying wherever he could.
WACO (KCEN)-- An early morning fire in Waco led firefighters to a body in an abandoned home.
The blaze started in a vacant house on the 1400 block of Springdale Ave just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The flames were concentrated in the back of the home.
Fire crews said, once they had the fire under control they discovered a body inside.
A witness tells KCEN, he saw two men walking around the side of the home and heard glass breaking just before the flames began.
The cause of death and how the fire started is still under investigation.
