
(KCEN) -- Tax season is finally here, and if you're in the military, there are filing perks you need to know about.
Those looking for an opportunity to do their taxes online may consider Onesource.com. They are offering free online filing to any military members.
Opportunities to complete taxes in person may also be conducted at H&R Block. They offer the 10-40 EZ form for free, along with a ten percent discount on any other forms.
If you're not in the military and made less than $49,000 last year, Goodwill begins its free tax prep Monday.
Those not serving in the military, but have relatives or spouses enlisted, should research state tax laws to see if they quality for any savings.
Military members that purchased a new home may also qualify for a homebuyer credit tax that can deduct as much as $8,000 for first-time buyers. Moving expenses may also be covered.
