The UIL Thursday announced changes that will affect local schools:
Class 5 A District 21-5A Deer Park is added to West Brook, Baytown Sterling, Channelview, North Shore, LaPorte and Port Arthur Memorial.
District 20-4A. This district remains with Central, Ozen, Livingston, Lumberton, Nederland, LC-M, PN-G and Vidor.
21-3A, Buna goes up from 2A to 3A and will be in the district with Bridge City, Hamshire-Fanett, Orangefield, Silsbee, Hardin-Jefferson and West Orange Stark.
District 20-3A, Jasper is in the district with Huntington, Dibol, Center, and Carthage. Also, Houston Yates and La Marque dropped down from 4A to 3A. This will affect the playoffs.
District 10-2A, Division 1: Kirbyville drops down from 3A to 2A. It joins Anahuac, Hardin, Kountze, Newton, Warren, East Chambers and Woodville.
District 12-2A, Deweyville will be in the district with Anderson –Shiro, Corrigan-Camden, Groveton, Hemphill and New Waverly.
District 11-1A, Division 2, Burkeville, Evadale, Mt. Enterprise, Sabine Pass and Tenaha.
1-A 6 Man Division 1, High Island moves to conference 1-A 6-Man Division 1 with Apple Springs, Chester and Oakwood.
