A ball of light soared across the skies of Central Texas just before 8pm Wednesday night.
Little River Academy Police Chief Troy Hess said, they got several 911 calls after a meteor lit up the region.
It was so bright Chief Hess was able to catch the event on his dash cam.
He described the meteor as a flash of light that turned a greenish blue color and then turned yellow as it burned out.
Dean Chandler, President of The Central Texas Astronomical Society said, Wednesday's sighting was a Fireball, classified by it's extraordinarily bright light.
Chandler said, meteor sightings are common but a Fireball is a bit more unique.
The opportunity to see a Fireball only happens once every few years.
