An employee of the Port Arthur Wal-Mart received what is described by police as "minor bumps and bruises" after a scuffle with a teenage shoplifter.
Police say shortly after 4:00 p.m. Sunday Wal-Mart loss prevention personnel at the Twin City Highway Supercenter tried to stop two Port Arthur brothers, one 17-years-old and the other 11-years-old, from leaving the store without paying for merchandise.
The younger of the two was seen getting into a waiting car, but they were pulled over by police a short time later. Officers found stolen frozen pizzas in the car.
Investigators say the older brother aggressively shoved an associate against a wall before fleeing the store. He was eventually found in the lobby of a nearby Casa Ole restaurant in possession of video games and other property that police say he took from the store.
Wal-mart decided not to press charges against the younger brother because of his age. His older brother, though, was booked into the Jefferson County jail on robbery charges.
