Belton Lake Area Boil Water Notice Canceled

Posted: Updated:

Update: The boil water notice for the Belton Lake area has been canceled and officials say the water is now safe for use.

(KCEN)- Several 439 Water Supply customers in the Belton Lake area have been placed under a boil order after a transmission line broke.

Customers from Eagle Point West Avenue and all points east of Eagle Point West Avenue along Highway 439 and surrounding areas are asked to boil their water.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

If you have questions regarding this matter, you may contact the 439 Water Supply office at 254-939-8203 during regular office hours or 254-541-3236 if the office is closed.
