WHITNEY (KCEN)- A man who was shot twice after allegedly attacking a sheriff's deputy has been identified.
84-year-old Monty Moore called the sheriff's office Tuesday afternoon when he thought someone was in his attic.
When a deputy arrived the man walked out the house with a .22 caliber rifle.
Investigators say the man tried to take the deputy's gun, then hit her in the face and tried to choke her.
The deputy used her stun gun and then shot Moore twice when the stun gun did not stop Moore from attempting to attack her.
Moore is currently in critical, but stable condition at a Fort Worth Hospital.
