TEMPLE (KCEN)- A Temple woman is now in the Bell County Jail
after she attempted to steal a cab Wednesday morning in the 400 block of SW HK
Dodgen Loop.
45-year-old Stephanie Williams of Temple is accused of
hitting the driver in the head as she tried to force her way into the driver's
seat to steal the cab just before 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Williams allegedly hit the driver again after he was able to
grab the keys from the ignition and exit the cab.
When officers arrived they found the cab driver standing
outside the cab and Williams sitting in the driver's seat. Police say when they
attempted to get Williams to exit the cab she resisted.
Williams was arrested and charged with robbery and resisting
arrest.
The cab driver did not sustain any injuries.
No bond has been set.
