(KCEN)- Little River Academy superintendent Kevin Sprinkles has confirmed that James Johnson, 71, the bus driver of the Little River-Academy school bus that was hit by a Lowe's delivery truck last month has died.
Funeral plans for Johson are set. His service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist church in Academy. Visitation will be held at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Johnson was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
He was put into a medically-induced coma after a Lowe's truck slammed into the school bus he was driving in January.
30 kids and 3 adults were taken to the hospital in the accident including 14-year-old Haley Johannsen who is still under medical care.
She is recovering from a broken spine at Dallas rehab facility.
