BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (KCEN)- The city of Bruceville-Eddy is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who can help find the person or persons responsible for shooting a water tank.
The city says two bullet holes caused about $30,000 to $50,000 of water to leak from the new water tank on Old Bethany Road.
The shots were fired with a high caliber rifle on Jan. 29 around 3 a.m.
Bruceville-Eddy police are working with McClennan county sheriff's office in the investigation.
"The criminal mischief is over the dollar amount of, it would definitely be a felony so the person responsible is looking at dealing with the D.A.'s office and indictment and such as that and the city's gonna pursue all charges against them," David Buchanan of the Bruceville-Eddy police department said.
Divers will go inside the tank Friday to find the bullets.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
