KILLEEN (KCEN)- The annual Texas Waterway Cleanup and Keep Killeen Beautiful is still looking for volunteers.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 3 in the Walmart parking lot at 1400 Lowe's Boulevard.
Every year, Keep Killeen Beautiful cleans Lowe's Boulevard Creek. Volunteers meet at 8 a.m. for a group photo and to pick up supplies before spreading out along the banks of the creek to remove cigarette butts, plastic bags, and other litter.
The Texas Waterway Cleanup, an initiative of Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, encourages communities to improve and maintain the quality of our state's waterways. Volunteers all across Texas come together to clean up polluted waterways in their local communities.
