KILLEEN (KCEN) -- A 3-year-old Killeen boy is dead after being shot in the chest at a home Saturday morning.

Police arrived at the 2900 block of Boyd Ave. at 8:36 after receiving a 911 call of a shooting.

On arrival, police found a boy shot in the chest where he was then taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

The boy, who was not identified by police, was pronounced dead at 9:24 a.m.

Police are investigating the cause of the shooting, however, they believe it may have been accidental.
