Central Texans Swarm To New Football Stadium Virtual Site

Posted: Updated:

It's drawing in attention from people around the country, a new virtual look at Baylor's planned stadium is out.

It looks like the quarter of a billion dollar project will become a huge draw for Waco.

It could also bring 6,000 new jobs to the area.

Baylor fans of all ages are in awe while we show them a sneak peek at what the new stadium could look like.

"Tailgating will be a lot of fun," said Baylor alumni Parker Willis.

Waco native Jeanelle Kremlins said this something the city has needed for years.

"Oh wow that is just gorgeous," said Kremlins.

"It's modern, and its new, and it's up coming, and that's what people want, that's where they want to be around," said Kremlins.

Right along side the Brazos River, and close to downtown, Baylor fans aren't the only ones excited about the new project.

For business owner Leah Stewart having the stadium closer means more business, and that's something she cant live without.

"I think that it give people more of an opportunity to eat at my restaurant before going to a game," said Stewart.

As the largest project this part of Central Texas has ever seen.

This new investment could transform the city of Waco into something bigger and better.

"I know of a Baylor family right now that just bought a house on up the river and they're planning on bringing their boat to the games," said Willis.

With 93 acres of Baylor Bear territory sitting right on the edge of the Brazos.

This power house that seats close to 50,000 is only a blink away, and these fans are ready.

"I'll certainly start attending, I'm not a ticket holder, but I have been in the past and I'm very impressed. That is something that would draw the local people in, including myself, " said Kramolis.

If everything goes according to plan, the new football stadium will be built by football season 2014.
