I must be a true Texan girl at heart because moving from the Northeast to Central Texas was an easy transition. Well, except for the bugs. I am thrilled to be reporting here in the Lone Star State, covering Killeen and Fort Hood.

Before I traveled down to Texas, I was the weekend anchor/producer and weekday reporter at WICZ-TV Fox 40 News in Binghamton, New York where I covered the historic flood in the fall of 2011. It was a devastating time for the area and I couldn't believe I had a front row seat. The experience was eye opening and reporting on how the community came together was inspirational. It was hard to leave the area while they were still recovering, but I was glad to say goodbye to snowy winters in Upstate New York.

My first job in the business was a Production Assistant at NBC 10 News in Philadelphia but my journey into journalism began in high school! I was born and raised in New Jersey where I anchored my high school's cable television show and morning news segment. I was also one of the select few in the Philadelphia region to graduate from the KYW Newstudies Program. I graduated from Hofstra University in 2009. That's where I discovered WRHU Radio Hofstra University and my true love for news. I reported, anchored, and eventually became the News Director at WRHU. The WRHU news team became an award winning news team while I was News Director, receiving recognition from the AP New York State Broadcasters Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. I even placed ninth in the country for the first round of the Hearst Broadcast Competition in 2009.

I also learned from the best while I interned at WABC-TV and NBC News Partnerships in New York City.

Please don't hesitate to e-mail me or say hello! I would love to hear your stories and share them with our viewers.
