(KCEN) -- The iPhone is getting a new design change.

When the iPhone 5 goes on sale, probably around October, the wide dock connector at the bottom of current devices will be much smaller.

Instead of a 30-pin connector, the iPhone 5 will come with a 19-pin connector.

The new design will make room for the earplug to move to the bottom.

The new design will not allow the iPhone 5 to connect with the current array of accessories like speakers and power charges without an adapter.
